A Version of Rough Mereology Suitable for Rough Sets
نویسنده
چکیده
We address in principle the notion of a boundary and we propose a version of mereology better adapted to rough set theory than the original version. We discuss the motivation and differences between the original and proposed now versions of rough mereology and we show that the Pawlak notion of a boundary in rough set theory is a particular case of the more general notion of a boundary in the rough mereological theory proposed in this work.

We outline a rough–neuro computing model as a basis for granular computing. Our approach is based on rough sets, rough mereology and information granule calculus.
متن کاملMulti-granulation fuzzy probabilistic rough sets and their corresponding three-way decisions over two universes
This article introduces a general framework of multi-granulation fuzzy probabilistic roughsets (MG-FPRSs) models in multi-granulation fuzzy probabilistic approximation space over twouniverses. Four types of MG-FPRSs are established, by the four different conditional probabilitiesof fuzzy event. For different constraints on parameters, we obtain four kinds of each type MG-FPRSs...
متن کاملRough Mereology in Analysis of Vagueness
This work aims at presenting to a wider audience fundamental notions and ideas of rough mereology. We discuss various methods for constructing rough inclusions in data sets, then we show how to apply them to the task of knowledge granulation, and finally, we introduce granular reflections of data sets with examples of classifiers built on them.
متن کاملS-APPROXIMATION SPACES: A FUZZY APPROACH
In this paper, we study the concept of S-approximation spaces in fuzzy set theory and investigate its properties. Along introducing three pairs of lower and upper approximation operators for fuzzy S-approximation spaces, their properties under different assumptions, e.g. monotonicity and weak complement compatibility are studied. By employing two thresholds for minimum acceptance accuracy and m...
متن کاملRough sets theory in site selection decision making for water reservoirs
Rough Sets theory is a mathematical approach for analysis of a vague description of objects presented by a well-known mathematician, Pawlak (1982, 1991). This paper explores the use of Rough Sets theory in site location investigation of buried concrete water reservoirs. Making an appropriate decision in site location can always avoid unnecessary expensive costs which is very important in constr...
